According to public records, Hamels and his wife, Heidi, purchased the 8,000-square-foot home in August 2009 for $1.53 million.
But the Phillies pitcher didn't move far, according to listing agent Kit Anstey of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach. Anstey said the couple purchased a home in the same development across the street. According to public records, the Hamelses spent $2.25 million for the home in February 2014.
The Delaware County home the couple is now selling, about 40 minutes outside of Philadelphia, is a two-story stone colonial, and is set on a private lot on just less than an acre.
The home has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, two powder rooms, and a three-car attached garage. Other standout features described in the listing include a front-to-back foyer with wainscoting, archways, and hardwood floors. The gourmet kitchen has a 12-foot-high ceiling, cherry cabinets, granite counters, and a large breakfast bar. The master bedroom suite has two walk-in closets with built-ins.
Hamels isn't the only Phillie to sell a home recently. We reported last month that Ryan Howard's Blue Bell home is pending sale. He's in the process of constructing a mega-mansion in Florida close to the Phillies' training facility in Clearwater.
