Bob Kelly joins Fox29's 'Good Day Philadelphia' as traffic reporter

Bob Kelly joins Fox 29 after 13 years at CBS3.

As rumored, former CBS3 Bob Kelly made his debut on "Good Day Philadelphia" this morning as the new traffic reporter for the morning show. He replaces Kacie McDonnell who decamped to Kansas City in August to be with now-fiancee Aaron Murray. Sue Serio had stepped in to do traffic in the interim.

To make the announcement, co-host Mike Jerrick pretended to pick any person on the street. Kelly, clad in a blue hoodie and sunglasses, just so happened to be standing at the correct bus stop (adorned with a "Good Day" ad, of course). Kelly's energy and general enthusiasm certainly fits with the "Good Day" brand, leading this gossip columnist to assume that Kelly will be more than happy to help out Jerrick, Serio and Alex Holley in their various shenanigans.

Kelly left CBS3 in September after 13 years with CBS3. "I truly expected to finish out my career at CBS, and the incredible outpouring of countless messages and phone calls has reminded me how much I really love doing what I get to do, and in the city I grew up in," Kelly told me in an email upon his depature from CBS3. "I'm not sure of the next step in the journey yet. But for now, I'm very much looking forward to sleeping in past 2:30 a.m. and waking up with my family. TV is in my blood and I love it with a passion. I look forward to the moment I can help the viewers navigate the roads once again."

Looks like that time has come.
