Rich Zeoli takes over afternoons at WPHT

"I think our line up has never been stronger," said Marc Rayfield, senior vice president and market manager, CBS Radio Philadelphia.

Rich Zeoli will take over the 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 1210 WPHT. Zeoli had previously worked nights and done fill-in work for the station. Dick Morris, who will occupy the spot until the upcoming election, will continue to do a Saturday show for the Big Talker.

Zeoli will officially begin Wed., Nov. 5. The New Jersey native began as a part-timer at WPHT in 2010 and was hired full time in 2012.

"He has an unbelievable attitude. We've been grooming him and it totally made sense," said Marc Rayfield, senior vice president and market manager, CBS Radio Philadelphia. "He's just a good guy and we were hoping we could put him on in primetime."

While rumors swirled in trade publications that the spot might go to a syndicated show like Michael Savage, Rayfield told me that it was critically important to keep that drivetime spot local, focusing on issues affecting the Delaware Valley.

Rayfield also said that in the search for their host, they were looking for someone who could complement morning show host Chris Stigall. "I think our line up has never been stronger," said Rayfield.
