Jones, Moore honored by A-10, Big 5

Saint Joseph's junior guard Carl Jones and Temple senior guard Ramone Moore have been named co-player of the week by both the Atlantic 10 Conference and the Big 5.

Moore averaged 20 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists as the Owls went 2-0. He scored a career-high 32 points in a victory over Villanova.

Jones averaged 21 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals as the Hawks also went 2-0. He scored his 1,000th career point in a win over Boston University, becoming the 49th Hawk to do it and 17th to accomplish it as a junior.

On the Big 5 men's honor roll are:

La Salle junior guard Ramon Galloway, who averaged 20.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4 assists in a 2-0 week for the Explorers.

Penn senior guard Tyler Bernardini, who scored a career-high 29 points in a loss at UCLA. He had eight three-pointers and seven rebounds against the Bruins.

Villanova junior forward Laura Sweeney has been selected Big 5 women's player of the week for the second consecutive week. Sweeney, who also made the Big East weekly honor roll, scored a game-high 25 points as the Wildcats beat Saint Joseph's.

On the Big 5 women's honor roll are:

Temple junior forward Brittany Lewis, who scored 14 points and had 5 rebounds in the Owls' win over Kent State.

Saint Joseph's senior guard Michelle Baker, who scored 18 points against Lafayette and had a 10 points and 10 rebounds against Villanova.

La Salle junior guard Brittany Wilson, who had a game-high 18 points and 8 rebounds in a win over Loyola-Chicago.
