Owls' Williams transfers to TCU

Temple senior forward Craig Williams has transferred to Texas Christian, according to the Horned Frogs web site.

Williams, a 6-9, 240-pounder, redshirted last season with the Owls after suffering a preseason foot injury. He will be eligible this season for TCU.

The native of Christiansted, St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, played 61 games over three seasons with Temple, starting 13 times. As a sophomore in 2008-09, he averaged 5.3 points and 3.0 rebounds. As a junior, he averaged 3.8 points and 1.8 rebounds.

"We are happy to be able to add a player like Craig Williams to our roster," TCU coach Jim Christian said. "Craig is a guy who comes from a winning program, one that reached the NCAA Tournament each year he was on campus. He's very versatile for a big man, and we believe he will be a good fit for our program this season."
