Vols coming to North Broad

At Temple we are proud to play one of the nation’s top schedules, year in and year out, and this Saturday will be one of our toughest games of the season when we host No. 8 Tennessee.

Any time our program can be challenged like it is going to be against Tennessee is terrific. I think when you can go to a place like Tennessee and play in that environment like we did last year, and go to a place like Kansas like we will next week is a great learning experience for our team. Then, to have those teams come back to us is tremendous.

We also greatly appreciated the opportunity to go to a place like Penn State. It is a wonderful institution and to have them come back to Temple next year will be great for our program. I hope we can continue to do that series for years to come.

The challenges that teams like Tennessee and Kansas present, you cannot replace that in terms of the education your players are going to get. That is the reason why we value competing against the nation’s best.

In regards to the game this Saturday, the main thing Tennessee brings is its relentless nature. They play so hard and every possession is a challenge, both on offense and defense. So we are going to have to really take care of the basketball, do a great job on the defensive end and again take no possessions off in order to be successful.

We are looking forward to showcase a packed Liacouras Center to an ESPN national television audience Saturday afternoon. Hope to see you there.

Go Owls!
