1. No death sentence for Gosnell: Kermit Gosnell, convicted this week on three counts of first-degree murder for killing babies born alive, has made an agreement with prosecutors to waive his appeal rights in exchange for a sentence of life in prison. The West Philadelphia abortion could have been sentenced to death at penalty hearings scheduled for later this month.

2. I-95 troubles: The Daily News takes a look at the rush-hour headache that is Interstate 95. The jams tie up commuters, cost the region more than $3 billion a year, dump 1.5 billion pounds of carbon dioxide into the air -- and are going to stay this bad for years.

3. Trial in death of Bucks musician: The trial for those accused of killing Levittown musician Danny DeGennaro continues today. Prosecutors say 20-year-old Jermaine Jackson was the mastermind behind the 2011 botched robbery that left DeGennaro fatally shot. Facing separate trials are the two alleged shooters and two alleged getaway drivers.

4. Ruling in Etan Patz case: A ruling is due today in the murder case for the New Jersey man accused of kidnapping and killing 6-year-old Etan Patz, one of the most infamous child disappearances in U.S. history. A judge is slated to rule today on whether there's enough evidence to bring the case against Pedro Hernandez, of Maple Shade, N.J., to trial. Patz vanished in New York City in May 1979; Hernandez was arrested last May.

5. Powerball jackpot: The jackpot for today's drawing has grown to $360 million for the annuity, or $229.2 million cash, one of the largest prizes in lottery history.
