RUBA Club's two towering floors on Green Street host Brat Productions Festival Bar theatrics. On floor one, a slew of your Philly bartender of faves mix up strong drinks and spins '80s hits. Upstairs, as booked by mini-Brat Jess Conda, the shows so far are as frenetic as the fueled-by-5-Hour-Energy-driven host.
So far, that's meant cats from 11th Hour Theater Company and Tribe of Fools acting like Jersey guidos, electro-hip hopper El Malito rhyming about platypuses in Spanish, and Cabaret Red Light Burlesque kicking high and wide.
On Friday night, along with the Puppenhaus crew doing a punch-up match-up meet-n-greet, the Extraordinaires, one of Philly's kitchiest rock ensembles, fronted a BYOB puppet fare where YOU, the audience got involved. Yes, they played a Muppet-master Jim Henson tribute set, and yes, this reviewer donned a sock with eyeballs.
Festival Bar at RUBA Club Studios, through Saturday. Doors open at 10 p.m. 416 Green St.
