Live from the SRC: new commissioner comes on board

It's SRC day, and while the meeting agenda seems fairly light, it's still a meeting worth watching.

Activists are expected to make their presence known, delivering a petition demanding more proactive policies around areas like immigration, LGBTQ awareness, etc.

And it's the first meeting for Christopher McGinley, who was appointed Wednesday to the SRC by Mayor Kenney. McGinley is a career educator, an education professor at Temple University, former superintendent of Lower Merion and Cheltenham schools, and also a longtime Philadelphia teacher, principal and central administrator.
