Andre Iguodala appears to be out for tonight's game against the Phoenix Suns
Andre Iguodala did not participate in this morning's shootaround in Phoenix and it appears he will miss his second straight game.
Sixers swingman Andre Iguodala did not do much of anything at this morning's Sixers shootaround in preparation for tonight's game against the Phoenix due to recurring tendonitis in his right Achilles.
Officially listed as a game-time decision, Iguodala said that if the game had to be played this morning, that he would not be able to go. It appears that he will be out for the game tonight. Iguodala informed coach Doug Collins about an hour before Monday's game in Golden State that he wouldn't be able to play that night.
Tonight is the sixth of an eight-game road trip for the Sixers, their longest of the season. So far, they have captured wins in Orlando and Denver, while dropping games in Chicago, Boston and Golden State.
Phoenix, which has lost three straight might get a boost tonight from Vince Carter, who was recently acquired in a trade that brought him from Orlando. Carter participated in practice Tuesday and in today's shootaround, but said after that he still wasn't sure if he was going to be cleared to play. He has been battling a sore left knee and has not played since December 14. Carter could bring some much needed offensive help to the Suns, who traded away leading scorer Jason Richardson as part of the Carter deal.
Sixers guard Lou Williams became a father for the first time on Tuesday when daughter Jada Janine Williams entered the world at 8 pounds, 12 ounces. Williams was at the team hotel this morning and is expected to be available tonight.
