The Jaguars granted the Eagles permission to interview Chris Polian for their executive personnel vacancy, according to an NFL source.

Polian, 42, has spent the last two seasons as Jacksonville's director of pro personnel. He previously was the Colts' general manager from 2009-11 and worked under his father, Bill, who was the team president at the time. Both Polians were fired by the Colts following the 2011 season.

The exact date of the Eagles' interview with Polian is not yet known. The team currently has no comments on the search or any candidates.

Eagles coach Chip Kelly is leading the search after owner Jeffrey Lurie handed him control over the personnel department on Friday. Former GM Howie Roseman is no longer involved in personnel, but he will continue to oversee the salary cap and negotiate contracts.

While the new hire could have the title of "GM," he will not have final say on either football or contract decisions. The Eagles have also requested permission to interview Texans director of pro personnel Brian Gaine and Dolphins director of college scouting Chris Grier, per an ESPN report.

Chiefs director of pro personnel Chris Ballard decline the Eagles request, a league source said. He is believed to the frontrunner for the Bears GB opening. The Eagles also asked to speak with the Eliot Wolf, but the son of former Packers GM Ron Wolf is unlikely to leave Green Bay.

The Eagles have also been linked to Lions director of pro personnel Sheldon White.
