Eagles Brooks, Green-Beckham out vs. Washington

Eagles right guard Brandon Brooks is a surprise inactive Sunday for the second time in three weeks because of an illness. Brooks, who has not missed practice at all this past week, will miss the 1 p.m. game against the Washington Redskins. He was hospitalized before the Green Bay game two weeks ago because of an illness, too.

The Eagles are also missing wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, who is out with an abdomen/oblique injury. Green-Beckham did not practice all week.

The other inactives are running back Kenjon Barner, linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill, offensive linemen Dillon Gordon and Halapoulivaati Vaitai, and defensive tackle Taylor Hart.

With Brooks ill, look for Isaac Seumalo to start at right guard. Seumalo started the Packers game, too. Josh Andrews is active as a backup guard.

With Green-Beckham injured, the Eagles' four wide receivers are Jordan Matthews, Nelson Agholor, Paul Turner, and Bryce Treggs.

Barner is inactive for the first time this season. He was not on the injury report, so he is considered a healthy scratch. Barner is one of the Eagles' kickoff returners.

Vaitai was ruled out for the third consecutive game because of a knee injury. Grugier-Hill is usually active, but the Eagles went with an extra defensive end (Steven Means) and all of their defensive backs.

Hart and Gordon have not played this season.
