Eagles add CB, safety, DE and LB in last two rounds of draft

The Eagles traded back in the sixth round and still picked Auburn defensive back Blake Countess, a player the team targeted in the pre-draft process. Howie Roseman called him a "favorite player of ours" who can play both cornerback and safety.

Countess, who was not invited to the combine, is a little shy of 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds at his Pro Day.

A former top recruit from Owings Mills, Md., Countess began his college career at Michigan before transferring to Auburn as a graduate student last year. He started 15 games and had 71 tackles and two interceptions with the Tigers. Countess started 43 of 51 games during his college career.

The Eagles picked up an additional seventh-round pick in the trade and giving them three picks in the final round.

The Eagles used the three seventh-round picks on a safety, defensive end and linebacker.

Using the 233rd overall pick, the Eagles chose LSU free safety Jalen Mills, who is 6-foot and 191 pounds.

With the 240th pick, obtained from the Vikings via the Bills, the Eagles chose Florida defensive end Alex McCalister who is 6-foot-6, 239 pounds.

The Eagles' last pick, 251st overall, was Oregon linebacker Joe Walker. He is 6-foot-2 and 236 pounds.
