Acho Active vs. Dallas; Foles CT scan scheduled for tomorrow

Eagles quarterback Nick Foles will have a CT scan to gauge the healing of his broken collarbone tomorrow, a source close to the situation told the Daily News. The source said Foles seems to be healing normally. The inactive list was as expected, with LB Emmanuel Acho playing.

ARLINGTON, Texas - Eagles quarterback Nick Foles will get a CT scan today to assess his healing left collarbone, a source close to the situation told the Daily News yesterday.

The source said it will be hard to say how Foles is healing until the scan, but he is feeling markedly less tenderness every day, and his strength is improving. The source said there is no reason, before the scan, to think Foles' healing will take longer than 6 to 8 weeks.

Foles broke his left collarbone Nov. 2 at Houston. He has been throwing the football lately, but hasn't actually practiced. Foles has not been available to speak with reporters since suffering the injury.

In case of emergency

Linebacker Emmanuel Acho, who suffered a groin injury in Sunday's victory over the Titans, was active yesterday, but did not play. Eagles coach Chip Kelly said Acho was available only in an emergency. That came close to happening when inside linebacker Mychal Kendricks left the game briefly with a quad injury, but the Birds got by until Kendricks returned. He said afterward he was fine.

Acho usually alternates, more or less, at middle linebacker with Casey Matthews, in the wake of DeMeco Ryans' season-ending Achilles' tear. Matthews played a lot of snaps yesterday, but after taking an early 14-0 lead, the Eagles also were able to play a lot of dime with Nolan Carroll as a quasi-linebacker.

Dez-ignated

Dez Bryant, with four catches for 73 yards on seven targets, said: "I'm really not mad at all. They beat us. I'm going to accept that and I'm not going to look past Chicago, but I can't wait to go up there and play them again. Cannot wait."

Dallas is 3-4 at home, Bryant was reminded.

"Truthfully, I can't answer that. It is what it is, but like we always do, we will figure it out," Bryant said.

Commander Cody

Cody Parkey's nine field goals in the last two games is a team record. His 125 points are an Eagles rookie record.

"I'm just kind of an emergency blanket, if the offense can't punch it in," Parkey said.

Birdseed

Jeremy Maclin broke through the 1,000-yard barrier for the first time in his career, with eight catches and 108 yards, giving him 71 (also a career high) for 1,088 with four games remaining . . . Maclin leads the NFL with six catches of 50-plus yards this season . . . Riley Cooper was a big part of the Birds' red zone struggles yesterday, especially when a third-down pass bounced off him because he wasn't looking for it . . . Jordan Matthews has five touchdowns in the last five games . . . The Eagles won the turnover battle 3-1 . . . Their 12 defensive fumble recoveries lead the league . . . Fletcher Cox has three sacks in the last four games . . . Vinny Curry has seven sacks in the last nine games . . . Inactive were QB Nick Foles, CB Roc Carmichael, CB/S Jaylen Watkins, WR Jeff Maehl, DE Taylor Hart, and OL Julian Vandervelde and Dennis Kelly . . . Dallas center Travis Frederick called the loss "a minor setback."
