DeSean Jackson holds no bitterness toward the Eagles

Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson acknowledged that he gets a little extra excited when playing his former Eagles team, which means that Sunday's home game against the Birds has special meaning.

Jackson was sent packing by the Eagles after a 2013 season in which he had 82 receptions for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns. Now in his third season with the Redskins, Jackson says there is no bitterness toward his former team. His feelings toward his former coach Chip Kelly are much different.

"I never really had hard feelings toward Philadelphia, besides being released by whoever released me,"Jackson said in a conference call on Wednesday with Eagles reporters. "I mean that is different, but I guess he is not there anymore,"

Jackson was clearly referring to Kelly, the driving force behind the move.

"There have never really been hard feelings toward the city, the team, the organization," he continued. "Like I say, things happen, you move on."

Jackson says he and former Eagles teammate LeSean McCoy frequently reminisce about their time together in Philadelphia.

During the conference call, Jackson was asked if he and McCoy, now a member of the Buffalo Bills, still talk about what might have been in Philadelphia.

"Every day," said Jackson, who has 18 receptions for 278 yards and a touchdown for the 3-2 Redskins. "He sent me a message today that said, 'Oh man, we were awesome together."

Jackson agreed.

"I am like, 'Oh yes, I miss playing with you' but you have to move on."

Jackson said he received a photo from McCoy that illustrated the good times he was talking about.

"He actually sent me a picture when he scored a touchdown in Philadelphia and it was like 'Man, we miss those days but you've got to live on, move on.' It is unfortunate that things broke up the way they did, but everybody is still happy and doing what they need to do."
