FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Miles Austin will not play Sunday against the New England Patriots. The Eagles made him a healthy scratch for the first time this season, listing him among the seven inactives.
Defensive end Cedric Thornton is inactive because of an ankle injury; Taylor Hart will start in his place. Quarterback Sam Bradford will return to the lineup, and left tackle Jason Peters is active even though he was questionable for the game.

The other inactives are quarterback Thad Lewis, running back Ryan Mathews, cornerback Denzel Rice, offensive lineman Barrett Jones, and offensive lineman Tanner Hawkinson.

With Thornton out and Hart in the lineup, Brandon Bair is active as a reserve.

The most notable change is sitting Austin. He has split receiver snaps with Riley Cooper on the left side and has played 50 percent of the snaps this season. Austin has only two catches during the past two games.

The Eagles activated Jonathan Krause for the first time this season. Krause was promoted from the practice squad before the Lions game. This will be his first NFL game. He was on the Patriots' practice squad last season, and Bill Belichick was fond of the Vanderbilt product.

The Patriots will play without starting tight end Rob Gronkowski, linebacker Dont'a Hightower, defensive lineman Dominique Easley, and wide receiver Julian Edelman. Linebacker Jamie Collins and wide receiver Danny Amendola are active for the Patriots.
