Pre-draft NFL power rankings | Paul Domowitch

Prior to the NFL draft, Paul Domowitch takes a look at where each team stands following the free-agency season.

Paul Domowitch's NFL pre-draft power rankings:

1     Patriots      14-2

Tom Brady says he wants to play another 5-6 years. Sure, why not.

2     Falcons       11-5

Super Bowl losers often don't fare well the next season.

3     Packers      10-6

They brought back CB Davon House to reinforce a sagging pass defense.

4     Raiders       12-4

They need more than the 25 sacks they got from their pass rush in '16.

5     Steelers      11-5

As long as Big Ben returns, Steelers again will be a SB contender.

6     Cowboys     13-3

Lost 5 players to FA/retirement who started 12 or more games last year.

7     Dolphins    10-6

Dolphins were active in FA, but key still will be the health of QB Ryan Tannehill.

8     Seahawks  10-5-1

Signed RB Eddie Lacy, but their offensive line remains a concern.

9     Chiefs          12-4

Three playoff appearances in 4 years for Andy Reid's Chiefs, but just one playoff win.

10  Giants         11-5

OT D.J. Fluker might turn out to be a more significant pickup than Brandon Marshall.

11  Lions           9-7

Improved a leaky o-line with additions of G T.J. Lang and OT Ricky Wagner.

12  Broncos      9-7

Broncos averaged a pathetic 3.6 yards per carry last season.

13  Panthers    6-10

It's time for Cam to be Cam again.

14  Titans         9-7

Upgraded secondary in FA and have two first-round draft picks.

15  Bucs            9-7

Addition of vertical threat DeSean Jackson should open things up for Mike Evans.

16  Texans               9-7

Are they really prepared to go into '17 with Tom Savage as their starting QB?

17  Cardinals   7-8-1

Cardinals scored a total of 87 points in their last 7 games.

18  Vikings       8-8

Imported a new pair of OTs (Mike Remmers, Riley Reiff) to better protect Sam Bradford.

19  Eagles         7-9

Additions of WRs Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith should improve Wentz's passing numbers.

20  Ravens              7-9

Joe Flacco has just 7 more TD passes than interceptions the last 2 seasons.

21  Saints          8-8

Drew Brees will be in a nursing home before the Saints field a respectable defense.

22  Bills             7-9

Bills signed not one, but two FA fullbacks. I thought they fired Rex Ryan.

23  Bengals      6-9-1

Marvin Lewis has more job security than a tenured teacher.

24  Colts            8-8

This is not going to be an easy fix for new GM Chris Ballard.

25  Jaguars      3-13

Continued to upgrade defense in FA, but they need QB Blake Bortles to take the next step.

26  Chargers    5-11

Chargers are going to play in  a 30,000-seat soccer stadium. Insert your own jokes.

27  Redskins    8-7-1

Terrelle Pryor will be an intriguing target for Kirk Cousins, but defense has problems.

28  Rams           4-12

Watch 31-year-old head coach Sean McVay age before your very eyes.

29  Bears          3-13

They had a league-worst minus-20 turnover differential last year.

30  49ers          2-14

Improved themselves in FA, but new GM John Lynch still has a lot of work ahead of him.

31  Jets             5-11

32  Browns    1-15
