Nick Foles: Polar bear
Eagles backup quarterback Mark Sanchez was a guest today on the WIP Afternoon show with Anthony Gargano and Rob Ellis, and he was asked about what his impression is of Nick Foles. The entire interview can be heard here, but I'll just let Sanchez's quote on Foles stand on its own:
"I think the way he works, and his personality, it's very mellow, almost like a polar bear. They look kind of deceivingly, like, 'Oh, he's just relaxing,' but when it's time to play, when it's time to go, and the polar bear, it's his time to hunt and he has to go get a seal, that dude is not messing around. He's got this killer instinct in him and it doesn't show when he's off the field. It doesn't show when you're talking to him or you're in Bible study with the guy. You'd never know this was a professional quarterback. He doesn't talk about it. He doesn't brag about it. But when it's time to play, the dude just suits up, and I mean he can flat out sling the ball.
"With the way he's working and the system he has around him and the talent he has around him, I think he can be one of the best quarterbacks in the league."
