Pat Shurmur to interview for Raiders head job

The Raiders requested and were granted permission to interview Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, according to an NFL source.

Shurmur's interview was first reported by Philadelphia Magazine. An exact date for the meeting has yet to be set.

Shurmur, 49, has spent the last two years as the Eagles OC, but coach Chip Kelly has called the plays. Shurmur was previously the head coach with the Browns from 2011-12. He compiled a 9-23 record before being fired by a new ownership group.

From 1999-2008, Shurmur was an Eagles assistant, first as the tight ends coach and then in charge of quarterbacks. He then left to become the Rams offensive coordinator for two years.

In other news, the New York Jets requested permission to interview Eagles director of pro personnel Rick Mueller, according to the New York Daily News.
