Report: Redskins’ Deshazor Everett won't be suspended for hit on Eagles’ Darren Sproles

Washington Redskins safety Deshazor Everett won't be suspended for his big hit on Eagles running back Darren Sproles, according to the Washington Post.

Redskins safety Deshazor Everett won't be suspended by the NFL for his big hit Sunday on the Eagles' Darren Sproles, according to the Washington Post, which cited a unnamed source. However, The Post reported Everett might be fined later this week.

Everett slammed Sproles as he tried to field a punt during the fourth quarter at Lincoln Financial Field. Sproles hadn't signaled for a fair catch, but the ball wasn't close enough to him yet to be caught. He left the game and was diagnosed with a concussion.

Zach Ertz and Jason Peters both called the play a "cheap shot." And as Marcus Hayes and Mike Sielski wrote after the game, Ertz and Peters were far from alone.

Everett acknowledged after the game that "it was a bad hit" and added, "If I could have taken that split second back, I definitely would."
