Vikes' Peterson, Gerhart out; no Birds surprises
The Minnesota Vikings will be missing their top two running backs, Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart, today against the Eagles. The Eagles inactives are as expected -- no Earl Wolff again.
MINNEAPOLIS -- It's official. The inactives are up and the Minnesota Vikings will face the Eagles today without their top two running backs, Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart, who were injured last week against Baltimore. Their starting running back will be Matt Asiata, backed up by Joe Banyard, signed a few days off the practice squad.
The Vikings also are missing starting corners Chris Cook and Xavier Rhodes.
As expected, the Eagles are again without rookie safety Earl Wolff, who suffered a knee hyperextension Nov. 10 against the Packers. Also inactive are LB Najee Goode (hamstring) and the usual healthy suspects -- QB Matt Barkley, OTs Dennis Kelly and Matt Tobin, CB Curtis Marsh, and RB Matt Tucker.
