Flyers prospect Samuel Morin taken to Quebec hospital after puck to the face
Flyers prospect Samuel Morin fractured his jaw in a vicious incident after taking a puck to the face in his junior game on Sunday afternoon, Flyers general manager Ron Hextall confirmed.
Morin was taken in an ambulance to a Quebec City hospital after an errant shot caught him in the face. According to translated reports from TVA Sports' Mikael Lalancette, there was a significant amount of blood on the ice.
Morin is scheduled to have surgery to repair his fractured jaw on Monday, Hextall said. He is expected to miss approximately 4-5 weeks of action.
Morin, 19, was sent back to his junior team on Oct. 3 after the Flyers flirted with keeping their 2013 first round pick for a nine-game tryout to start the regular season. He posted 3 assists in his first 5 games back with Rimouski.
