Jeff Francoeur scratched from lineup

Phillies outfielder Jeff Francoeur was removed from the Phillies lineup shortly before Saturday afternoon's game against the Detroit Tigers. He is listed as day-to-day with mild soreness in his left oblique

Francoeur was replaced by Brian Bogusevic, who homered to left field in his first two at-bats. Francoeur was slated to play right field and bat fourth. He said he felt a tweak during batting practice and did not want to risk anything. The setback could cost him a day or two, Francoeur said. He is hitting .278 this spring ad could make the team as an extra outfielder.

The Inquirer's Mike Sielski wrote a column on Francoeur for Sunday's paper.
