Live updates: Phillies vs. Rays
After three scoreless innings, Tampa Bay started the afternoon's scoring and took a 1-0 lead over the Phillies on a groundball single from Asdrubal Cabrera that drove in James Loney.
Tampa Bay added to their lead with a solo home run from Logan Forsythe at the top of the fifth to make it 2-0.
The Phillies bounced back in the bottom of the fifth however, scoring two seperate runs on errant throws. Carlos Ruiz scored on a wild pitch from Mike Montgomery, and a throwing error from Rene Rivera allowed Odubel Herrera to score.
At the top of the seventh, Forsythe hit another solo home run to right field to give the Rays a 3-2 advantage. The Rays then added to their advantage at the top of the eighth inning when Mike Mahtook homered to left field, driving in Bobby Wilson.
In the bottom of the eighth, Chase Utley drove in Jordan Danks on an RBI single to change the score to 5-3.
