The Phillies finally announced their blockbuster trade with the Texas Rangers on Friday afternoon, officially ending Cole Hamels' 13-year tenure with the organization that drafted him 17th overall in 2002.

Hamels is expected to arrive in Arlington Friday and will make his Rangers debut there Saturday night against the San Francisco Giants opposite veteran righthander Tim Hudson. Matt Harrison, the 29-year-old lefthander the Phillies acquired in the deal, was originally slated to start for Texas on Saturday.

The Phillies acquired prospects C Jorge Alfaro, OF Nick Williams, RHP Jake Thompson, RHP Alec Asher and RHP Jerad Eickhoff in addition to Harrison. Along with Hamels, the Rangers acquired left-handed reliever Jake Diekman and cash, reportedly worth $9.5 million.

Hamels will address the Philadelphia media at 2 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park before flying to Dallas. General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. will address the trade at 1:30 p.m.
