76ers-Mavs Best/Worst: Salah Mejri, Jahlil Okafor, defensive woes

DALLAS – Here is my look at some of the best and worst performances and happenings from the Dallas Mavericks' 113-95 victory over the 76ers Wednesday night at the American Airlines Center.

Best performance: I had to give this one to Salah Mejri.  The Mavericks reserve center gave his best Anthony Davis impersonation by dunking all over the Sixers. He had a season-high 16 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in 21 minutes, 03 seconds.  He made 7 of 9 shots and eight of his rebounds came on the offensive end. Not bad for someone that only played a combined 10 minutes in the Mavs' previous two games.

Worst performance: I hate to do this to Jahlil Okafor on a night when playing defense appear optional for the Sixers. And yes, a lot of the Sixers chose not to play any D. But the center had a tough time on the defensive end. His defensive woes overshadowed his team-high 16 points.  Okafor also struggled on the boards (one rebound).

Best defensive performance: Seth Curry gets this award. The Mavs shooting guard finished with a game-high four steals. He also finished with game highs of 22 points and six assists.

Best performance by a Sixer: Ersan Ilyasova receives this. The Sixers power forward finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. He made all four of his foul shots.

Worst statistic: This award goes to the combined rebounds of Okafor and Nerlens Noel. The Sixers two centers grabbed just four rebounds. Noel had three.

Best statistic: This award goes the Mavs' rebounding. They grabbed 51 against the Sixers after averaging just 38.2 heading into the game.

Worst of the Worst:  You have to give this to the Sixers' defense. They struggled mightily in his area. They could not stop penetration or the Mavs in the paint. This had to be one of their worst defensive performances of the season.
