New 76ers power forward Furkan Aldemir sat out the end of practice Wednesday because of a sore right heel.

Aldemir, who signed with the Sixers (2-22) on Monday, suffered the injury back in his native Turkey.  Coach Brett Brown expects the 6-foot-10, 240-pounder to play against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

"It was sore enough to have him sit down," Brown said. "But he's getting treatment on it, and you know we will see what goes on with that."

Aldemir had two points, two rebounds, one assist and a steal in 9 minutes, 32 seconds of action in a 105-87 setback to the Boston Celtics on Monday night, one day after traveling from Turkey.
