Bayless to start for Sixers against Bulls

Jerryd Bayless will start his first game as the 76ers point guard on Friday night against the Chicago Bulls at Wells Fargo Center.

Sixers coach Brett Brown announced the move following Friday morning shootaround at the team's practice facility at the Camden Waterfront.

The Sixers (4-11) signed Bayless this summer to become their starting point guard. However, he missed the first 13 games with a torn ligament in his left wrist. Friday will mark the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder's third game back.

Bayless finished with four points and five assists in 15 minutes, 27 seconds as a reserve on Monday against the Miami Heat. He followed that up with 18 points and six assists in 30 minutes off the bench on Wednesday versus the Memphis Grizzlies.

Bayless replaces Sergio Rodriguez in the starting lineup.

Center Joel Embiid (right foot, rest) will miss the game. Shooting guard Gerald Henderson (illness) is questionable. Reserve center Richaun Holmes (gastroenteritis) and reserve guard Nik Stauskas (left ankle sprain) are probable against the Bulls (9-6).
