Covington, Bayless out; Okafor questionable for Denver game

76ers standouts Robert Covington and  Jerryd Bayless are out and Jahlil Okafor is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Denver Nuggets at the Wells Fargo Center.

Joel Embiid will play against the Nuggets and rest in Tuesday's game against the Grizzlies in Memphis. The center does not play in both games of back-to-back situations because he is still recovering from foot injuries that cost him two seasons.

Covington, the small forward, will miss his second straight game with a left knee sprain. He's also suffering from flu-like symptoms.  Covington will not accompany the team on the road trip to Memphis and New Orleans (Thursday). Nor will sidelined reserve center Nerlens Noel (inflamed tissue left knee), who has yet to play this season.

Bayless will miss his fifth straight game and 18th of the season with a torn ligament in his left wrist.  The point guard is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game at Memphis.

Meanwhile, Okafor's status for Monday's game will be determined closer to the 7 p.m. start. The reserve center is sidelined with gastroentreritis.
