Embiid out on Sunday against Detroit Pistons

Joel Embiid won't travel to Detroit for tomorrow's game against the Pistons with an inflamed elbow

Just the same old stuff for the Sixers as one player returns and another isn't going to play.

The team announced that Nerlens Noel will be available to play Sunday when the team takes on the Pistons in Detroit, but also said Joel Embiid will not make the trip due to inflammation on his right elbow and in conjunction with his individualized load management program. Jahlil Okafor, who has missed the last three games due to gastroenteritis, will be available to play against the Pistons.

It will be the eighth missed game for Embiid this season out of the 23 the team has played. The 7-2, 276-pounder has struggled a bit of late, having shot just 10-for-30 over his last two games. During that time, he's grabbed just 11 total rebounds, also. Though his numbers weren't spectacular during the team's road win in New Orleans on Thursday, coach Brett Brown was quick to point out that the team was a plus-27 during Embiid's 27 minutes and three seconds of play. That win snapped a 23-game road losing streak for the club.

Following Sunday's matchup, the Sixers will play four consecutive games at home, beginning Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors.
