Five things you need to know about the 76ers today

1.  Today is the anniversary of one of Julius Erving’s most memorable games.  The former Sixers small forward finished with 38 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 2, 1981.

2. Joel Embiid is by far the league’s most-dominant rookie scorer. His six 20-point performances double that of Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, his closest competitor.

3. As I’ve mentioned before, Richaun Holmes needs more minutes. He and the Los Angeles Clippers post player Marreese Speights are the only NBA players averaging at least seven points and 4.5 rebounds in less than 17 minutes per game.

4.  Nerlens Noel is back with the Delaware 87ers for a rehabilitation stint. The reserve center is with the Sixers’ NBA Development League team to get in a quality practice since the Sixers are playing Friday.

5.  Nik Stauskas keeps climbing up the league's three-point percentage list. The Sixers reserve guard is ranked sixth with a shooting percentage of 45.1.
