Henderson not expected to play vs. Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY – 76ers shooting guard Gerald Henderson is not expected to play Thursday night against the Utah Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena. His status for Friday's game against the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center has not been determined.

Henderson left Monday's game against the Sacramento Kings with 8 minutes, 59 seconds remaining  and didn't return due to unbearable pain in his left hip. He's been dealing with the pain all season, but was laboring and ineffective on the defensive end to the injury against the Kings.

The Sixers (7-23) think Thursday will be a good time for his to rest the hip.

He said soreness and stiffness are a result from his having two surgeries in that hip. Henderson initially had surgery to repair a torn labrum in the hip in May 2011 while with the  Charlotte Bobcats. His second surgery  in July 2015 was debridement arthroscopy surgery.
