The Sixers traded Moultrie to the New York Knicks before this season. The Knicks turned around and waived the 6-foot-11 power forward.
Moultrie was drafted by the Miami Heat out of Mississippi State in June 2012 and traded to the Sixers on draft night.
He spent last season in Sixers coach Brett Brown's doghouse. The former all-Southeastern Conference selection was also suspended five games without pay for violating the NBA's and NBA Players Association's anti-drug policy. And he was assigned to the Delaware 87ers, the Sixers' NBA Development League team, twice last season.
Moultrie averaged 3 points and 2.9 rebounds in 12 games last season with the Sixers.
