76ers-Nets Best/Worst: Brook Lopez, Nik Stauskas and Sixers' invisible defense
Here is my look at some of the best and worst performances from the Brooklyn Nets' 141-118 victory over the 76ers on Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Center.
Best performance: This was a tough one. Make that an extremely tough one. But I had to give this to Brook Lopez. The Nets center finished with 16 points. He made 4 of 5 shots, including both of his three-pointers. Lopez also went 6-for-6 from the foul line and blocked three shots in just 23 minutes, 4 seconds of action.
Worst performance: This has to go the Sixers' Nik Stauskas. The reserve guard missed eight of his nine field-goal attempts – including going 0-for-5 on three-pointers en route to finishing with fourth points. The third-year veteran also had a game-worst four turnovers.
Best defensive performance: This was another tough one. I ended up giving this award to Nets swingman Caris LeVert, who finished with a block and a steal. He graded out with a team-best plus 26 in 19 minutes, 26 seconds of action.
Best performance by a Sixer: Richaun Holmes wins this award after producing 16 points on 7-for-11 shooting. He made 2 of 3 three-pointers to go with six rebounds, four assists and three blocks.
Worst statistic: You have to give this to the Sixers' fast-break points. They scored only seven.
Best statistic: This award goes to the Nets' first-half three-pointers. They made 12 in the half to set a floor record.
Worst of the Worst: This goes to the Sixers' defense. The Nets' 141 points scored were a Wells Fargo Center record. So were the 81 points that they scored in a half. Brooklyn shot 64 percent from the field while doing whatever it wanted to do offensively.
