Simmons has 'a lot of learning and growing to do'

LAS VEGAS – Ben Simmons is pleased with his performances in two summer leagues.

The 76ers first overall pick averaged 10.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.8 turnovers in six combined games in the NBA Summer League and Utah Jazz Summer League.

"I think I played pretty well, overall," the point forward said.  "I have a lot of learning and growing to do. But that comes with it. I'm looking forward to getting to Philly and start to work out."

The 6-foot-10, 243-pounder said that he'll be in Philadelphia in several weeks after he attends to a few obligations.

Once he arrives in Philly, Simmons said that he plans to work on "everything."

During the summer leagues, he showed that he's a gifted passer and a solid rebounder with great court awareness.  However, he'll need to work on his shooting, his ability to remain active without the ball and cut down his turnovers.
