Easy solutions for makeup organization and storage

One of the things I love about my new house is that the master bedroom has a full-sized separate dressing area which I’m making into my beauty and glam room.

One of the things I love about my new house is that the master bedroom has a full-sized separate dressing area which I'm making into my beauty and glam room. The focal point of the room is going to be the vanity, and I'm just now starting to get it organized and set up.

While just a small fraction of my make collection is showin here, this is how I'm organizing it so far:

Makeup brushes: I always make sure I store them upright so I don't damage the bristles. The bigger brushes (blush, foundation, and powder) I keep in an empty La Colombe coffee can. I love the coffee and the packaging, so it's a win-win! My eyeshadow brushes I keep in a vase filled with clear stones.

Lipstick and face products: I love these clear acrylic makeup organizersI got from Home Goods.

Eyeshadow and blush: I use draw divders (again from Home Goods) to display my eyeshadow, gel and shadow eyeliners.

Palettes: My vanity is actually a computer desk, so it has a pull out open drawer for a keyboard. At first I didn't know what I was going to do with it, but it's actually the perfect place for my makeup palettes

And in case you were wondering, here's the actual desk I'm using as a vanity from Overstock.com:
