The best (and cheap) shore day beach bag essentials
Gone are the days of sandy smartphones (always in a plastic baggie), unintended sunburns (re-apply—there’s an app for that), and frizzy beach hair (apply conditioner or protectant before hand).
This August will be my 7th summer vacation down in Ocean City, N.J. As I transition out of beach newbie status to a semi-pro beach-goer, my beach bag packing has transcended to the next level.
Gone are the days of sandy smartphones (always in a plastic baggie), unintended sunburns (re-apply—there's an app for that), and frizzy beach hair (apply conditioner or protectant before hand).
Below are some of my favorite items to keep in my beach bag — all under $20 and available at Target.
Yes to Cucumbers Face Towelettes: These refreshing towelettes are perfect for removing sticky sweat and sunscreen off my face when going from beach to boardwalk. $2.99
Honest Organic Talc-Free Baby Powder: Trying to reapply sunscreen on a sandy, sweaty baby (or yourself) is futile. I keep baby powder on hand to easily remove sand for easy sunscreen re-application. 1$1.99
The Wet Brush: Knotty, wet, sea-salt hair is no match for the Wet brush. Brush gets all the tangles out quickly and painlessly. $8.99
Fekkai Pré-Soleil Hair Radiance and Protection: Hair needs protection from the sun, too. Keep color vibrant and hair moisturized with this protective spray. $17.99
No7 Hydarating Facial Mineral Water Spray If you're avoiding this season's shark-infested waters (kidding — but not really), stay refreshed on the beach with this facial spray. $9.99
