Cary Williams overworking another muscle

Chip Kelly a genius? Not according to Eagles defender Cary Williams, whose oddly-timed criticism of his head coach immediately after the thrilling defeat of the Redskins led all of Philly to scratch their heads.

"A lot of guys had no legs," Williams said. "A lot of guys, coming in here, were in a dogfight before the game even started. We've got to start taking care of our guys during the week in order for us to be productive and have more energy on Sunday. We've got to be smart. As a coaching staff and as players."

Apparently, Williams wasn't too tired to slog over to Chip's office Monday for a make-up session. "I got no issues with Cary," Chip said, noting that Williams was frustrated when he spoke after the game, and like all football players, he's "a competitor."

Meanwhile, we're still waiting for the "everybody else" Williams mentioned who feel the same way about Chip's brutal practice tactics to come forward. I'm not holding my breath - a team that has outscored opponents 74-24 in the second half of games doesn't strike me as too tired.

If I were Williams, and I wanted to keep my job, I'd keep my criticisms about Chip Kelly and his team policies to myself. If he continues to spout off, he might just start the offseason on the same bus DeSean Jackson took out of town.
