Smashing Pumpkins lead singer Billy Corgan not interested in buying TNA Wrestling, according to report

Lou D'Angeli, known by ECW fans as Sign Guy Dudley, said on Twitter recently that the lead singer of The Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan, was interested in purchasing at least a portion of TNA Wrestling.

Is @billy set on buying @IMPACTWRESTLING??? I know he is pretty serious in at least partial, if not, majority ownership. #TNA

In a story with Newsday.com, a spokesperson for Corgan told Josh Stewart that any news of him looking to buy into TNA Wrestling is merely a rumor.

"There is no reason to comment on rumors," the spokesperson said. "Billy is completely focused on Resistance Pro's upcoming 2nd anniversary [show on Nov. 23]."

Corgan is no stranger to the wrestling business. As noted in the quote he owns a piece of the independent promotion Resistance Pro Wrestling.

Corgan was also involved with the Philadelphia-based Extreme Championship Wrestling, but not as an owner.

He was offered to buy into the promotion by Paul Heyman, but turned it down.
