WWE Tough Enough season 6, episode 1 recap: Tanner stakes his claim, Hank is eliminated

Season six of Tough Enough started off with Chris Jericho and Renee Young at the WWE Performance Center welcoming everyone to the newest season.

They then introduced the judges for this season: Hulk Hogan, Daniel Bryan and Paige.

We were taken to the season's first challenge for the 13 contestants, which took place at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla. , home to WrestleMania XXIV.

The coaches, Booker T, Billy Gunn and Lita, put the contestants through a boot camp on the Citrus Bowl field, where the temperatures reached 108 degrees at one point.

Most of the contestants got through the so-called boot camp, but ZZ, who was a late edition to the show, struggled to keep up.

After a day at the Citrus Bowl, the show fast-forwards to later in the day when the contestants got a chance to unwind. While most of the cast members went out to the bar, ZZ and Patrick stayed behind as they are not old enough to tag along.

While at the bars, the male contestants were seemingly growing jealous of fellow contestant Tanner, who performed well during the drills and was receiving lots of attention from the female cast members.

The tension spilled over into the next day, as Billy Gunn gave the hopefuls a rude awakening and took them out for a morning run. Once again, ZZ lagged behind.

The contestants are then taken to the WWE Performance Center where they take part in drills in one of the rings. Once again, Tanner is a stand out performer.

Upon returning to the house, Tanner and Alex get into a debate about who was the more talented. Eventually, Patrick inserts himself into the conversation and gets into a heated conversation with Tanner where the two had to be separated.

We then go to Dianna, who was homesick and is missing her fiancée. The other women, specifically Gabi, showed little sympathy for Dianna and told her to go home if she doesn't want to be there.

After a shouting match between the two, Dianna decided to stay.

We then go back to the live stage where the judges speak to a couple of the contestants, particularly Dianna, as they inquire about her commitment to the show.

After another commercial, the judges select their bottom three. Hogan selected ZZ, Bryan picked Hank and Paige tapped Josh.

When the voting was tallied, ZZ finished with a whopping 52 percent of the vote, saving him from elimination. Hank, finished last, making him the first one to be eliminated.
