WWE NXT results and observations (11/30/16): Tye Dillinger has something to prove

Uncertainty surrounded Tye Dillinger after this week's episode of NXT, which emanated from the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.

Dillinger, who lost to Bobby Roode at NXT Takeover: Toronto, felt the need to prove he belonged in NXT by challenging NXT champion Samoa Joe.

Dillinger did not go about this in a humble manner. He did so by slapping Joe across the face, which enraged the champion.

In the main event, Dillinger put up a fight against Joe, but stood no match for the reigning champion, as Joe was victorious via the Coquina Clutch.

While Joe further cemented his place at the top of NXT, the loss left Dillinger wondering whether he actually belonged in NXT. Although the fans gave him a standing ovation, he stood in the ring with a dejected look on his face.

Dillinger has been in the spot before in storyline, but this time feels slightly different. Dillinger has been in NXT longer than I can personally remember and it may finally be time for him to get called up to the main roster.

Since winning the NXT championship doesn't seem to be in the cards for him, he has nothing left to gain from being in NXT. He's been ready to move up to the main roster, but he simply had to wait his turn.

In my opinion, the timing seems right for Dillinger to finally receive that call.

Elsewhere on NXT, NXT Women's champion Asuka reaffirmed her dominance atop the women's division by first destroying Nicole Matthews and then stating in a post-match interview that she has no completion left in NXT.

Also on the show was Eric Young defeating No Way Jose for his first televised victory.

Here are the full match results:

- Asuka def. Nicole Matthews

- Eric Young def. No Way Jose

- Samoa Joe def. Tye Dillinger
