WWE NXT results and observations (2/8/17): InSanity

NXT was back at Full Sail University in Orlando, Fla. this week and the timing could not have been more glorious.

That was because Bobby Roode celebrated his NXT championship victory over Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT Takeover: San Antonio in grand fashion.

Roode walked to the ring looking dapper as ever while wearing his newly won NXT championship around his waste.

He said that he wasn't the kind of guy that tells people, "I told you so," but quickly changed his tune and said that he is totally that kind of person.

He then flashed the NXT title wrapped around his waste and said, "I told you so."

He continued his victory speech by saying that he took Nakamura's best shot at NXT Takeover: San Antonio and it still was not enough to stop him from becoming the new champion.

Roode finished his speech by saying that from now on NXT's slogan is no longer "We are NXT." That is because NXT now belongs to him. It is now his NXT.

While NXT may belong to Roode, the ring Wednesday night belonged to Sanity, as the quartet bookended the show with a pair of major victories.

The episode's opening match was supposed to be a tag team match with Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain going up against The Bollywood Boyz.

However, it essentially turned into a handicap match, as Dain took on both Harv and Gurv Sihra on his own without tagging in Wolfe.

After the match, Sanity leader Eric Young grabbed the microphone and said that although Tye Dillinger turned down an opportunity to join the group a couple of weeks ago, he will still become a member one way or another.

Later in the show, Dillinger was being interviewed backstage where he insisted that he was not accepting Young's offer to join Sanity.

Sanity apparently wasn't too far away, as all four members attacked Dillinger and fought with him into the ring.

Just when it looked Dillinger was about to be overwhelmed, Roderick Strong and No Way Jose ran down to save him.

That set up a six-man tag for the main event that saw Sanity win yet again thanks to a dominant outing from Dain.

Business began to pick up in the tag team division Wednesday when The Revival defeated the awfully named duo of Heavy Machinery, which is comprised of Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic.

After the match, Scott Dawson took the microphone and challenged the new NXT Tag Team champions, the Authors of Pain, at NXT Takeover: Orlando to prove once again that they are indeed the best tag team in the world.

The Authors were not too fond of The Revival's trash talk and decided to confront the former two-time tag champs in person.

The Revival wanted no parts of the new champions and backed out of the ring while saying that the challenge was nothing personal, but that it was simply business.

With The Revival gone, the Authors of Pain walked to the top of the stage and began to show off their NXT Tag Team titles to the crowd, but The Revival came back and executed an ambush, which only angered the behemoths.

It looks like The Revival will indeed face the Authors at the next Takeover, but one has to wonder whether #DIY will be involved in that as well to possibly make it a triple threat.

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano were not on this show, but are still owed a rematch after losing the titles to the Authors at NXT Takeover: San Antonio.

In the women's division, Liv Morgan picked up an upset win over Billie Kay. After the match, Kay and Peyton Royce stormed into NXT general manager William Regal's office and demanded another match against Morgan.

Regal obliged, but said that it will be a tag team match with Morgan having a partner of her choosing.

Also of note was that Nigel McGuiness made his debut as the permanent replacement for Corey Graves in the announcer booth alongside Tom Phillips and Percy Watson.

Here are the full match results:

- Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe def. The Bollywood Boyz

- Live Morgan def. Billie Kay

- The Revival def. Heavy Machinery

- Sanity def. Tye Dillinger, Roderick Strong & No Way Jose
