WWE announces major cuts to its roster

UPDATE: According to a report from SB Nation, one more name has been added to the list of cuts. That name is JTG.

JTG apparently reacted to the bad news on Twitter.

WWE made a sweeping a change to its roster by announcing the release of 10 talents Thursday.

The company announced that Brodus Clay, Aksana, Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal, Curt Hawkins, Camacho, Evan Bourne, Yoshi Tatsu, former Smackdown general manager Theodore Long and referee Marc Harris had all been released from their contracts.

Clay was probably the most notable name to be let go after spending the better part of the last two years as a fixture on television as a dancing giant alongside Naomi and Cameron.

The WWE moved Clay away from the character in recent months, but he has rarely been seen on television.

McIntyre and Mahal made up two-thirds of the faux rock band 3MB alongside Heath Slater. Despite rarely winning matches, the trio was on television almost every week and was apart of the last two pay-per-view pre-shows. McIntyre entered the company with a load of hype and praise from WWE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Vince McMahon, but never quite made headway into the main event scene.

Long has been in the wrestling business for more than 20 years as a referee, manager and most recently as a general manager. Long was a mainstay on Smackdown as the show's general manager, but the role has rarely been used on television lately.

At one point, Bourne looked to be the next high-flying star for the WWE, but injuries and a wellness policy violation derailed his career with the company.
