WWE strips Daniel Bryan of WWE World Heavyweight Championship

The WWE finally came to a definitive resolution when it came to Daniel Bryan and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and it wasn't good news for Bryan.

Bryan was stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after Dr. Joseph Maroon, the man that performed Bryan's neck surgery last month, confirmed via a video that Bryan would not be cleared to wrestle during the month of June. However, Bryan will be re-evaluated at the end of the month.

Bryan underwent a surgical procedure on his neck May 15, which caused him to miss WWE's Payback pay-per-view June 1. Bryan hasn't defended the WWE World Heavyweight Championship since the Extreme Rules pay-per-view back on May 5.

With Bryan no longer champion, the WWE officially announced that a new champion would be decided in a Money in the Bank ladder match. It will be the first time ever that the title will be up for grabs in the match.

So far, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus, Cesaro and Randy Orton are in the match. There are still three more spots to fill.
