Live video: Soccer Sunday kicks off 2016 Major League Soccer season

If you follow Major League Soccer - and I'd guess is that if you're reading this blog, you do - you likely know by now that the league is producing a live whip-around show during the six afternoon games that kick off the 2016 season on Sunday. I'm thrilled to announce that you can watch the broadcast right here on Philly.com. It begins at 1 p.m.

If you follow Major League Soccer - and I'd guess that if you're reading this blog, you do - you likely know by now that the league is producing a live whip-around show during the six afternoon games that kick off the 2016 season on Sunday.

I'm thrilled to announce that you can watch the broadcast right here on Philly.com. It begins at 1 p.m. and includes real-time look-ins at the following games (all times Eastern):

1:30 p.m.: New York Red Bulls vs. Toronto FC
2:00 p.m.: Orlando City SC vs. Real Salt Lake
2:00 p.m.: Chicago Fire vs. New York City FC

3:00 p.m.: Houston Dynamo vs. New England Revolution
3:00 p.m. San Jose Earthquakes vs. Colorado Rapids
3:00 p.m.: FC Dallas vs. Philadelphia Union

Yes, that's right: you can watch the key moments from the Union's season opener live here.

Russ Thaler hosts the show, and is joined by panelists including former Real Salt Lake and New York City FC coach Jason Kreis; former MLS players Heath Pearce and Calen Carr; MLSsoccer.com's Matt Doyle and Diego Pinzón; Professional Referees Organization general manager Peter Walton; Fox Soccer and MLSSoccer.com's Katie Witham; and Fusion's Kevin Brown.

(I particularly note Katie and Kevin because of their long histories of covering the league. Kevin is also tremendously funny.)

There are also two reporters live at games: Kristen Kenney in Chicago and Jillian Sakovits in Portland, ahead of the Timbers' MLS Cup banner raising and game against Columbus on ESPN at 4:30 p.m.

If you want to focus on just one game, you have to sign up for MLS Live, the league's subscription online streaming service.

Bookmark this page and come back Sunday afternoon to follow all the action.
