Get your shop on at Philly's outdoor markets

When the weather takes a turn for the better and all the post-winter hibernation haze fades away, an enlivened bunch takes to the streets for a plethora of outdoor festivities. Instead of spending time indoors, spend a little green outdoors on unique, lust-worthy items at some of the best outdoor flea and craft markets the region has to offer. Here's your ultimate outdoor-shopping guide, with nary a mall in sight.

Philly Mart: Held on the grounds of the new Venice Island Recreation Park in Manayunk (1 Rector St.), the curated open-air market offers vendors like Salvaged Serendipity (upcycled furniture) and Crash Pad Designs (mod home items). When: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 18, May 9, and June 13.

Clover Market: At a new Bryn Mawr location (N. Bryn Mawr Ave. between Morris and W. Lancaster Avenues), shoppers can get the best in antiques, vintage jewelry, clothing, art, and the pick of grab-and-go bites from food trucks. No shopping fatigue here, either: Each of the market's dates will feature a different lineup of the 100-plus vendors set for this season. When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 26, May 17, and June 7.

Philly Flea: If you live in the city, there's a good chance this traveling market, a hot spot for one-of-a-kind antiques, will make its way to your 'hood. When and where: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. April 19, Lincoln Financial Field (1 Lincoln Financial Field Way); 8 a.m.-5 p.m. April 25, Sister Cities Park (18th Street and Ben Franklin Parkway); 8 a.m.-5 p.m. May 2, Eastern State Penitentiary (22d Street and Fairmount Avenue); 8 a.m.-5 p.m. May 16, Broad and South Streets; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. May 30, St. Peter's Church (Third and Pine Streets); 8 a.m.-5 p.m. June 6, Jefferson Square Park (Fourth Street and Washington Avenue); 8 a.m.-4 p.m. June 13, East Passyunk Avenue between Morris and Tasker Streets.

Franklin Flea: Previously housed in the historic Strawbridge's building, this hip antique and vintage market takes it to the streets of Old City this season. Find everything from antique whiskey glass sets to 1960s vintage fur jackets and local, homemade scented candles at Historic Headhouse Square (2nd and Lombard Streets). When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. May 9, May 23, June 13, June 27, July 11, July 25, Aug. 8, Aug. 22, Sept. 12, Sept. 26, Oct. 10, Oct. 24.

Crafty Balboa: Major points for a fun name, the South Philly market offers quirky handcrafted items to match, like baby gear, jewelry, and flasks. Grab a bite to eat at the adjoining Flavors of the Avenue, held along East Passyunk Ave. and Tasker St. When: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. April 26.

Art Star Craft Bazaar: Etsy comes to the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing (101. S. Columbus Blvd.) with the best cutesy handmade housewares, jewelry, and art, curated by Northern Liberties' local craft boutique, Art Star (623 N. Second St.). When: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. May 9 and 10.

Golden Nugget (1850 River Rd., Lambertville): In an active antiquing experience, you will find diverse items for the home, retro paintings, records, and 1950s pinball machines. When: 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays all year.

Go West!: Not the Wild West, but West Philly - The Woodlands (40th St. and Woodland Ave.) to be specific. Craft market favorites include Flaming Idols' LGBTQ altar candles (think Madonna, RuPaul, and Cher instead of saints) and culturally influenced jewelry from Indican. When: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. April 25.

Lancaster-Made Market: This new market features 25 Lancaster County artists, like Melanie Hummer Photography and Kevin Bedgood Woodwork. There will be live craft demonstrations, too along the 300 Block of N. Queen St. in Lancaster. When: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. May 2.

Rice's Market: This one isn't for the weak: Rice's Market (6326 Greenhill Rd., New Hope) packs in hundreds of vendors on more than 30 acres stacked with a range of goods from bonsai trees to tea kettles. When: 7 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesdays and Saturdays, March through Dec.

McConkey's Market: More than 50 crafters hawk earthy, handmade jewelry, furniture, pottery at Washington Crossing Historic Park (1112 River Rd., Washington Crossing). Come hungry: Food trucks and vendors will feed you. When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 20.

Englishtown Auction (90 Wilson Ave., Englishtown, N.J.): Don't let the name fool you. You won't be bidding on goods here. But with 40 acres of outdoor sales space, put your bargaining hat on. Organizers say vendors expect a bit of a haggle. When: 8 a.m.-4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.

Craft Phila (6th and 7th Streets between Chestnut and Market Streets): Made in the USA goods at the feet of USA's birthplace. When: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, May 16 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, May 17.
