Spank Rock is feelin' the 'Energy', new album in the works

Spank Rock has just released a new single and announced his up-coming, sophomore album titled

It's been such a long time since we've heard from one of Philly's finest (almost 5 years). Last night, Spank enthusiastically tweeted: "YO! MY PEOPLE! I'm releasing my first single "ENERGY" on BAD BLOOD RECORDS tomorrow. ON PRINCE'S BDAY!" "It will be available on ITUNES world wide, but you can take a listen on SPANKROCK.COM ...GUESS WHO's BACK BITCHES!"

Word on the streets is that this is the single is from his up-coming, sophomore album titled Everything Is Boring and Everyone Is a Fucking Liar. The album is due to be released on September 13th and features guest production/talent from Boys Noize, The Neptunes, XXXChange, Santigold, Big Freeida, & more. [via CoS]

It's very different from what we're used to hearing from the hip-hopper. "Energy" has a low-fi electronic quality to it and features Spank singing more than rapping. We're feeling the new direction though! We're very excited to hear more.
