Morgan's Pier extends season with Fall Fest

If you couldn’t get enough of Morgan’s Pier summer beer garden, you still have time — and this year it extends through Saturday, Oct. 31.

If you couldn't get enough of Morgan's Pier (221 N. Columbus Blvd.) summer beer garden, you still have time — and this year it extends through Saturday, Oct. 31.

Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 23, Morgan's Pier presents Fall Fest: six weeks of autumn-themed events including pumpkin ales, a seasonal menu, a Halloween party, and more.

Here's a rundown of what to expect.

For your taste buds: Your favorite harvest flavors are back in season, and Chef Nick Elmi will serve new menu items on his outdoor grill. In addition to the new bites, new beverages for Fall Fest include Oktoberfest and Pumpkin-style brews, as well as warm cocktails.

Popeappalooza: Even though the city will be a madhouse from Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 27; Morgan's Pier invites all to celebrate the pope's visit with a few drink specials. Opening at 11 a.m. each day, the beer garden will offer $3 Yuenglings and $4 Victory Festbiers. Not only is that a good deal, but for every person who makes an appearance, the restaurant will donate $1 to a charity of choice — The Francis Fund, Mil Mujeres, or PennEnvironment.

For an alternate taste: Throughout the weekends in October, Nick Elmi invites fellow chef friends from local restaurants to join him in the kitchen for a collaboration meal. Each weekend will feature the guest's specialty on the outdoor grill at a fixed price. Chefs scheduled for the month include: Joe Cicala Saturday, Oct 3 and Sunday, Oct. 4; Michael Solomonov Saturday, Oct. 10 and Sunday, Oct. 11; Jeremy Nolen Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18; Jason Chichonski Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25.

Get spooked on the Pier:
Celebrate the end of Morgan's Pier's season with a Halloween Party on Saturday, Oct. 31. Starting at 9 p.m., the night will feature a costume party, as well as an open bar. A quick tip — come in costume, the cover is cheaper. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Oct. 1.

Additional enjoyment: Besides the events listed above, the Pier offers free outdoor gaming Wednesdays through Sundays; DJ Nights on Friday and Saturdays; pumpkin carving from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays; and family-friendly football tailgate parties on Sundays.
