Philly's first Trinidadian food truck!
A mother daughter team is bringing their authentic Trinidadian cuisine to the streets by way of food truck! Keep an eye out for Mini Trini this week!
It's no secret that we here at Phrequency, (along with the rest of Philadelphia) love the food truck movement! We're really excited about the newest food truck we caught wind of today - with a concept that's different than what's out there already. This one is a food truck run by mother-daughter team, Claudette Campbell and Iman Marcano-Sowell, featuring authentic Trinidadian eats. The two have been serving up delicious Trinidadian food at Calypso restaurant in Chestnut Hill for years, and this week are bringing their talents to the streets by way of food truck. 'Mini Trini' is Philadelphia's first gourmet Trinidadian food truck and will be serving up authentic tastes such as roti (veggi, shrimp, or chicken), doubles (chicken or fish), bake & saltfish, sweet potato fritters, and accra (fried codfish cakes). You can catch Mini Trini at Love Park every Monday and Thursday from 11am - 3pm. Additional stops will be added in the coming weeks - follow @TheMiniTrini on twitter or visit the Mini Trini facebook page for details and updates!
