Children of the '90s balked at the recent announcement of the Legends of the Hidden Temple TV movie, but next month, the Penn Musuem might make it all better.
On April 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Penn Museum will host "Legends of the Hidden Temple: Penn Museum Edition." Tickets run $20, and are available now.
Based around the classic kid's show, Penn's Hidden Temple event will pit teams of competitors against one another through physical and mental challenges, all with a focus on history. Expect scavenger hunts, knowledge competitions, and other challenges.
Attendees will be split into teams like the Orange Iguanas and Blue Barracudas before traversing the Penn Museum's galleries. Throughout the game, staff from organizations like Eastern State Penitentiary, the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, and the Mütter Museum will test participants' mental and physical endurance.
Points will be awarded based on the completion of challenges throughout the 30-minute competition. And, just like with the real Legends of the Hidden Temple, be sure to look out for temple guards — if you're caught and answer their questions wrong, you're out.
Unfortunately, this one is for bonafide '90s kids and up. Guests must be 18 years old to attend, or 21 to drink at the available cash bar. More information is available here.
The Legends of the Hidden Temple TV movie, meanwhile, is set for a November 2016 release.
